The Scream is without a doubt Edvard Munch’s most famous painting — and often the only one people know. It is an emblematic example of the expression of anguish in his work, even though between 1880 and 1943 he painted nearly 1,800 paintings on many other themes.
Paul Kooiker works at the intersection of art and fashion. He uses staged and constructed images to question how the body is portrayed and perceived. His work often distorts scale, manipulates lighting, and isolates body parts to disrupt familiar visual cues.
